Turn caring into a career at myHomecare
Location Sunshine Coast Northern Suburbs
At myHomecare, you’ll support older Australians to maintain their independence so they can enjoy living at home for longer. We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated care provider with heart to join us as a Domestic Assistant at Bromilow in the Northern Suburbs on the Sunshine Coast. Whether you already have aged care experience or not, we’ll help you get where you need to be.
As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll develop valuable aged care and communication skills by helping our clients - older Australians - with general daily tasks and providing exceptional in-home care.
We pride ourselves in connecting our community to the services that suit their individual needs and lifestyle. You'll enjoy going the extra mile for our clients because providing home care isn’t just what you do – it’s what you’ll love to do.
As a Domestic Assistant, you will:
- Domestic Assistance: Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, emptying garbage, washing dishes and putting them away, washing and ironing clothes, bed making, meal preparation, assisting around the garden and shopping.
- Unescorted shopping/ baking: Running errands on a client’s behalf.
You’ll work hard and with empathy to complete a variety of domestic duties for our clients. But this role is much more than just a cleaning job. Every task you complete as a Domestic Assistant helps an older person to live as independently as possible.
In this role, your work will embody our CARE values:
Courage
You’ll work independently in the community, upholding our high standard of services. You’ll share information with your Manager, who will provide instruction and guidance, to help you ensure the health and wellbeing of our clients. Aged care work isn’t always easy, but you’ll use your initiative, compassion and resilience to provide the best outcomes for the person you’re supporting.
Action
Your role will make a positive difference to the lives of our clients and their families every day. You’ll be quick to adapt and provide clients with individualised care, tailored to their needs and circumstances. The services you provide will have a direct and positive impact on the community – and you’ll love seeing the results.
Reliable
Our clients know they can rely on us for consistent care with a warm smile. You’ll use your strong organisational skills to do just this. And as you deliver for your clients, we’ll help you grow your skills. For example, you’ll build your knowledge in aged care services by participating in face-to-face and eLearning training sessions.
Empathy
It goes without saying that a Care Worker role requires a deep level of empathy and sensitivity. Whether you’re on a grocery run, making a cup of tea, or folding laundry – you’ll complete each task knowing you’re enriching a person’s life, no matter their age or ability.
To join us, you’ll need:
- A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003/4) and current CPR certificate (HLTAID001)
- The right to work in Australia
- A current driver license, access to your own car with comprehensive car insurance
- National Police Clearance
- Experience working in aged, disability care or domestic assistance is desirable, but not required.
